It is said if a wall were built around Jordan it would be a museum. The Kingdom was home to ancient cultures. The Moabites, Ammonites, Assyrians, Arameans, Nabateans, Greeks, Romans and Arab Muslims have left a rich archeological and cultural heritage. Jordan has a vast array of archeological and historical antiquities, which dazzled visitors for centuries.  To name a few, Petra the "red-rose" city, Jerash -the Greco-Roman city, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea.

The land has been also blessed with a rich religious history. Prophets Abraham, Moses, Lot, Aaron, Elijah, Joshua, Jesus, John the Baptist, Muhammad (PBUH) and others have either lived in Jordan or crossed its plains, valleys, hills mountains and streams. A good number of these known to have been buried in Jordan. The land hosts many Islamic and Christian religious sites. It is the place where Islam and Christianity meet. There you find the tombs of many of the Prophet Muhammad's companions, who where martyred and buried there, as well as the sites of the most important battles in Islamic history. Furthermore, to the east of River Jordan a large loop has long been identified as the spot where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist. It is called al-Maghtas in Arabic. Less than two Kilometers east of the River is another important place - the settlement of Bethany, where John lived and baptized.

Jordan is the land of legend and warm hospitality. Wherever you go you will be touched by the kindness of the people and the timeless beauty of the Kingdom's uncounted treasures. You are cordially invited to explore the natural beauty, the archeological intrigue and wondrous gift of the country.
